This Saturday Night Live cold open basically wrote itself. 

In the two weeks since the sketch comedy series last aired — on Jan. 21 — the U.S.A. has weathered the Trump administration’s immigration ban; increasingly strained international relations with Australia, Germany, Mexico, and Arnold Schwarzenegger; adviser Steve Bannon’s secret presidency; embarrassing gaffes around Black History Month and Holocaust Remembrance Day; and the dictatorial overtones currently emanating from the White House.
