Saturday Night Live cast members Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney are good eggs. While all their female counterparts in the cast and crew participated in the Women’s Strike on March 8, the two dudely allies crafted a sketch in honor of the movement.
Only they missed the point. Like, completely flew past it.
That is the point, of course. Maybe men shouldn’t be the only voices addressing gender inequality. Sometimes, SNL sketches work because they subtly riff on the issues of the day. Other times, they find humor in landing so heavily on the nose you can practically hear it breaking.
